Adjustable Cervical Collar MSC02

The adjustable cervical collar MSC02 is a two-piece collar with one universal size: a moulded EVA and PE shell carries the head, and the front section slides and locks so the same collar is set to the wearer rather than picked from a size run. It is the model in this range that takes the sizing decision off the shelf.

What it does is mechanical. The collar carries the weight of the head so the neck muscles are not holding it, and it limits how far the head can nod, turn and tilt. How long it is worn, and how firmly it is closed, is a clinical decision — a support garment is not a treatment.

Why Buyers Source This Collar from Medisolemates

Medisolemates has manufactured orthopaedic and medical support products in Shenzhen since 2010, five of those years on heat-moulding insoles. The neck range is one of eleven product families, so a distributor can build a container from the soft, semi-rigid and rigid collars plus the traction devices on one set of terms and one documentation set.

To test the height range, the strap tension and the shell material on your own samples, send your requirement and the market you sell into through the cervical collar manufacturer page, or contact us with your target specification.

What the MSC02 Adjustable Cervical Collar Is

Two moulded pieces: a front section and a rear panel, held by a hook and loop strap. The front carries the chin support and the height adjustment; the rear cradles the base of the skull. Both are faced with padding over the shell, and the shell wipes clean, which is why this shape survives in clinics and in rental fleets where a soft textile collar would not.

One size covers the range, so a distributor stocks one code instead of a size run. The trade-off is that whoever fits the collar has to set it, which takes a few seconds and, on a supine patient, a second pair of hands.

Materials and Specification

  • Item No.: MSC02
  • Material: EVA, PE, composite cloth
  • Colour: black
  • Product size: universal, one size
  • Height adjustment: multi-position front section with a rotary lock
  • Closure: hook and loop
  • Certificates: FDA, CE, ISO 13485

The material line cannot be used as it stands. Composite cloth does not name a fibre, so as written it feeds neither a fibre label nor a customs description — and for an orthopaedic textile product, publishing the composition is a commercial necessity rather than a legal one, because the buyer’s own label, their market’s compliance view and the customs code all depend on it. Map the three entries to the parts they belong to.

If the transparent front panel is PE, say so: a clear shell over black padding is one of the visible differences between this model and the other hard collars in the range.

Sizing and Fitting

The collar is a single universal size and the page does not publish the neck circumference band or the chin-to-sternum height range it covers . Those are the two measurements a distributor is asked for first, and without them the collar cannot be compared with a sized alternative in a tender.

Fitting order matters. Set the height with the collar closed but not tightened, check that the chin sits in the cradle rather than behind it, then close the strap so the collar stays put when the head turns. A collar set too high lifts away from the shoulders; one set too low presses the chin into the front edge.

Who This Collar Is For

This is the hard collar in the range that does not come in sizes. It is worn where the neck needs holding in a set position rather than merely cushioned, and where a soft foam collar is not firm enough — and because the height is set rather than chosen, it suits clinics, rental fleets and distributors who would rather not carry four sizes in four SKUs.

The published list of uses is a clinical statement and should be replaced with the factory’s own intended-use wording before the page goes out . Which patients a rigid collar suits, and for how long, is a clinician’s judgement; what a product page can state is what the collar does mechanically.

Where This Collar Sits in the Collar Range

Five collars in this catalogue, and what separates them is support level and how the fit is set rather than the shape of the shell.

The cervical collar MSC01 is the one with a tracheotomy opening and rigid posts, sold in S, M and L. The rigid cervical collar MSC07 is the ventilated PVC shell in four sizes. At the soft end, the memory foam collar MSC05 is a plain soft collar and the foam cervical collar MSC06 is the one with a removable support plate that turns it semi-rigid.

MSC02 sits in the middle of that ladder with one feature the others do not have: a single size adjusted to the wearer. It can be stocked alongside a sized model rather than instead of one, and the whole set sits under the neck and cervical support category.

How It Is Worn and Cared For

Set the height, close the strap, check that the chin is in the cradle, and re-check the fit after the first few minutes of wear. The shell wipes with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, which is why this construction is preferred where a collar is shared between users or reissued.

Two care points belong on the instruction sheet. Padding compresses and shells crack, so the collar should be inspected at the edges and along the adjustment strip and taken out of service when either shows damage. And a collar is a passive support: use should be time-limited and decided clinically rather than left on indefinitely.

OEM, ODM and Private Label

MSC02 is supplied for own-brand programmes. Shell colour, padding material and colour, the size of the height range, the closure type and the packing — polybag or printed box — are the items buyers change most, and a printed instruction leaflet is normally part of the artwork.

Send the target market and the artwork and we will confirm which items are standard and which need setup.

Quality, Certification and Documentation

The page states FDA, CE and ISO 13485, and for a collar the three mean different things. ISO 13485 certifies the quality management system of a legal entity rather than a product; CE is a conformity marking applied under the applicable EU regulation, and a non-invasive orthopaedic collar is normally class I; FDA status is normally a registration or listing rather than a product certificate.

Three documents belong with this product and are not on the page: a material declaration covering the shell, the padding and the closure, a biocompatibility statement for the skin-contact materials, and label artwork carrying the required warnings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an adjustable cervical collar?

A collar whose height is set by the wearer rather than fixed by size. MSC02 does it with a front section that slides and locks against the rear panel, so one universal collar covers the range that would otherwise take three or four sized SKUs.

Is MSC02 one size, or is it sold in a size run?

It is one universal size. That is the main commercial difference between it and the other hard collars in this range, which are sold in S to L or S to XL. The trade-off is a fitting step rather than a size choice.

How is MSC02 different from the rigid collar MSC07?

Both are hard collars with two-part shells, and the split is sizing and material. The rigid cervical collar MSC07 is a ventilated PVC shell in four sizes; MSC02 is a moulded EVA and PE shell in one size with the height set on the collar itself. MSC02 is also the one with a clear front panel over black padding.

Does wearing a collar through the day weaken the neck muscles?

A collar is a passive support, and the evidence for passive measures is neutral rather than positive. The Cochrane review of conservative treatment for whiplash-associated disorders found that collars and rest sit in the same category and that the evidence neither supports nor refutes them, and an earlier randomised trial found early mobilisation produced better outcomes than rest combined with a soft collar. The practical reading is that a collar should be a time-limited measure decided by a clinician, not a long-term habit.

Can the padding be replaced or cleaned?

The shell wipes clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent, which is the point of the construction. Whether the padding is replaceable depends on the version ordered, and that should be stated on the page rather than left to a buyer’s assumption.

What is the minimum order quantity?

500 pieces per model at stock colours, with mixed orders from 2,000 pieces across the neck range. Lead time is 5 to 25 days for stock colours and 14 to 25 days with your own branding.
