Product detailes

The MSW10 is a universal finger splint built on a removable aluminium bar, a padded composite shell and two hook-and-loop straps. It is listed as a middle finger protector splint, and the product photography shows it fitted on the middle finger — but the wrap-around shell is designed to fit any digit on either hand: index, middle, ring, little finger, and thumb.

What the MSW10 Finger Splint Does

A jammed, sprained or post-injury finger needs the same thing a broken one does — the joints held still while the soft tissue settles. The MSW10 does that mechanically. The padded shell wraps the finger, the aluminium bar sits along the back of it, and two straps close across the front. Movement at the finger joints is restricted and the finger is shielded from knocks while the splint is on.

If you have seen a finger caught between a ball and a hand, that is the classic jammed finger — the injury this splint is shaped around. General hand pain that limits grip has its own causes and care pathways, and a splint only helps when the problem is mechanical.

Two things this splint deliberately is not. It stops at the finger instead of continuing to the wrist, so it is not a trigger finger splint — that job needs a longer bar that keeps the finger extended at the knuckle. And it is a support device, not a treatment: it restricts movement and protects the finger, but it does not repair tissue or replace advice from a clinician or hand therapist.

Feature

1. Removable aluminium bar, shaped by hand

The bar slides out of its stitched sleeve, so it can be positioned, curved to match the finger, and closed over with the straps — image 3 on this page shows it being pulled out and bent. A fixed rigid stay holds a finger at one angle only; a bar that can be shaped is set to the angle the wearer actually needs. Because it comes out, the fabric shell can be washed on its own.

2. Two hook-and-loop straps

One strap closes across the proximal phalanx, the other nearer the tip, and both bond anywhere on the fleece outer face — no preset buckle positions to get wrong. The fit is decided at the point of wear rather than at the point of order, which is what makes one universal size work. The MSW11 uses three straps because it reaches the wrist; two is the right count for a finger-only splint.

3. Padded sponge-composite shell

The shell is a laminate: composite cloth over a sponged inner layer that cushions the finger and takes up sweat. There are no rigid edges or exposed metal against the skin, and the fleece outer face doubles as the loop side of the closure, so no separate buckle layer is needed and the profile stays low under a glove.

4. Universal fit — one SKU, five fingers, both hands

No size chart and no S/M/L to stock. Because the shell wraps around the finger rather than sliding onto it, one universal size covers adult fingers — index, middle, ring, little finger or thumb, on either hand. For a retailer that is one SKU per colour instead of a five-size run, and no sizing returns.

5. Six colourways

The MSW10 is listed in Black, Blue, Yellow, Grey, Beige and Red, and colour is usually the first thing a private-label buyer changes.

Who the MSW10 Finger Splint Is For

  • Jammed fingers from ball sports, doorframes and workshop knocks
  • Mallet finger and similar extensor tendon injuries, where the distal joint must be held straight
  • Finger sprains, strains and swelling after a knock
  • Post-cast or post-procedure protection once a rigid cast comes off
  • Keeping a finger protected during racket sports, climbing, cycling or manual work
  • Arthritic or stiff fingers that need support through a working day

Because mallet finger is the condition most often treated with a splint of this shape, and because it is easy to get wrong, both the NHS and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand publish what mallet finger is and how it is treated. Osteoarthritic finger joints are a different picture again, covered by Versus Arthritis; a splint supports the joint, it does not change the joint.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a finger splint used for?

It holds a finger still so the joints are not asked to move while soft tissue settles, and it shields the finger from knocks in the meantime. The MSW10 is used for jammed fingers, sprains, mallet finger and general finger protection after an injury.

What is the difference between the MSW10 and the MSW11 finger splint?

The MSW10 is a finger-only splint with a removable aluminium bar and two straps — it covers the finger and stops there. The MSW11 is a trigger finger splint whose 6.5-inch bar runs from fingertip to wrist, because trigger finger has to be controlled at the knuckle. Retailers normally stock both, since the two address different problems.

Does it fit any finger, or only the middle finger?

Any finger on either hand. The name follows the product photo, which shows it on the middle finger, but the shell is a wrap rather than a moulded tube, so it fits an index, middle, ring, little finger or thumb. That is why one universal size replaces a five-size range.

Do I need to measure the finger before ordering?

No. The MSW10 is a universal, free-size splint and both straps bond anywhere on the shell, so the fit is set when it is put on. Buyers who need a sized product for their market can order a sized run instead — ask us for the size bands.

Why Buyers Source Finger Splints from Medisolemates

We have been supplying healthcare and orthopaedic products out of Shenzhen since 2010 — sixteen years of supply chain work, five of them focused on heat-moulding insoles and on hand, wrist and limb supports. Retailers, importers and private-label brands across Europe and North America buy from us because the unglamorous parts are handled: strap tension that stays consistent between production runs, laminate colour matched to an existing range, and paperwork that holds up at customs.

Other products in the hand and wrist range include the thumb stabilizer brace, the arthritis thumb sleeve and the stroke hand splint. Buyers building a full shelf set usually start from our 2026 wrist brace buying guide or the full product range.
