Sacroiliac Hip Belt MSB09 — OEM & ODM Wholesale from Shenzhen

What the MSB09 Sacroiliac Hip Belt Is

This is the SKU we hand to buyers whose customer is asking about SI joint, postpartum pelvic pain or piriformis support. The MSB09 is a wraparound belt built around two layers of neoprene with breathable fabric panels and a secondary ribbon-fish strap for additional compression. The belt sits low across the SI joint, between the iliac crests and the greater trochanters. It applies a two-stage compression — primary belt for general support, secondary strap for adjustable focal pressure over a sore area.

The product page lists five Indications. We have re-framed them in the Indications and Use Cases section to match how the belt actually works in retail and clinical use. The original Indication list is preserved verbatim at the end of that section, so a clinical buyer who needs the factory-stated indications can still find them.

Three design notes that come back in wholesale conversations. The secondary strap is what most competing belts are missing. A wraparound belt with only one compression layer applies general pressure but cannot be adjusted over a hot spot. The MSB09 secondary strap is a separate ribbon-fish fabric, breathable, that the wearer tightens over a specific area. The hook-and-loop closure uses a “smart tabs” design — a folded tab that lifts the loop away from the hook, making the strap easy to release even after a full day of wear. The breathable fabric panels on the primary belt let air pass through. That matters for the SI joint area where the belt sits against the lower back for hours.

If your buyer is asking about lumbar support rather than pelvic, see the Adjustable Back Brace MSB12. For shoulder posture, see the Back Brace Posture Corrector MSB11 or the Adjustable Upper Back Brace MSB10.

Construction and Materials

The MSB09 is built around three components: the primary neoprene belt, the secondary ribbon-fish strap, and the hook-and-loop closure with smart tabs.

Primary Belt

The primary belt is a 109 × 9 cm neoprene strap. Closed-cell neoprene grips the body. It holds its shape across the SI joint area. The exterior is polyester for abrasion resistance. The interior has perforated fabric panels so heat and sweat pass through. A wearer who keeps the belt on for an eight-hour shift reports the difference between perforated fabric and a smooth closed-cell surface within the first hour.

Secondary Ribbon-Fish Strap

The secondary strap is a separate ribbon-fish fabric, breathable and elastic. It sits outside the primary belt. It lets the wearer add focal compression over a specific area — typically an SI joint, the symphysis pubis, or a piriformis trigger point. Ribbon-fish fabric resists pilling, which matters because the strap rubs against clothing every day.

Smart Tabs Hook-and-Loop

The closure is hook-and-loop with a small folded tab. The folded tab lifts the loop away from the hook. We chose this “smart tabs” design for one reason. Conventional hook-and-loop at the SI belt area tends to mat after a few cycles. The smart tabs make the closure easy to release even after a full day of wear.

Material composition from the product page is Neoprene. The factory can supply a percentage breakdown by layer — confirm before you print a fibre label, a customs declaration, or a latex-allergy statement for the EU market.

How It Fits Over a Day

The MSB09 is meant to be worn during the day, typically over light clothing, and removed at night. The factory’s language — “controllable compression”, “customize the amount of additional compression needed over specific sore or inflamed areas” — captures it. Wear during activity is supported; sleep is not.

The routine most of our testers settled on:

Stand up. Hold the primary belt with the label facing away from the body. Wrap the belt around the hips, just below the iliac crests, and secure the hook-and-loop at the front. The belt should sit low across the SI joint area. Adjust the tension so the primary belt is snug but the waist can still bend comfortably. Then thread the secondary strap through the buckle. Tighten it over the area where the wearer wants additional compression, usually over one SI joint or over the symphysis pubis.

For desk-day wear, re-cinch the secondary strap once around mid-afternoon as the elastic warms up. For lifting activity, the secondary strap can be tightened briefly during the lift and released between lifts. After the day is done, undo both closures and hang the belt by the smart tabs so the neoprene recovers its shape.

Hand-wash in mild soap, line dry, do not tumble dry. Tumble drying destroys the closed-cell structure of the neoprene and the elasticity of the ribbon-fish strap. The belt typically lasts 9 to 14 months of daily wear. Replace it when the smart tabs stop lifting cleanly, or when the secondary strap stops returning to its original length.

Sizing and Fit

One size — Universal, 109 × 9 cm. The product page does not publish a hip-circumference range covered by 109 cm of belt length; we will not invent one. The hook-and-loop closure typically covers a 15 to 20 cm adjustment range, so most adult wearers fit within the catalogue length. Request the factory’s hip-circumference range before you commit the SKU to a retail programme.

  • Universal, 109 × 9 cm

A custom length (a smaller cut-off or a larger cut-off) is available on request. As with the other SKUs in this family, the minimum order quantity for a non-standard cut is set per quotation.

Indications and Use Cases

The product page lists five indications: Sciatica, Hip and Spine Pain, SI joint dysfunction, Symphysis pubis dysfunction, Pelvic girdle pain, Piriformis syndrome or anterior pelvic tilt.

We have re-framed the indications to match how the belt actually works as a support device, not as a treatment. Under EU MDR 2017/745, a brace marketed to treat a clinical condition steps into a different conformity class than a brace marketed as ergonomic or pelvic support. Documentation, technical files and post-market surveillance differ between the two routes. Tell us before development if your market requires a medical-device classification; the route changes.

Five Buyer Settings

In practical terms, our retail and B2B buyers use the MSB09 in five settings.

For expectant and postpartum wearers, the secondary strap can be tightened over the symphysis pubis or over a sore SI joint during the late-pregnancy and early-postpartum months. For athletes — runners, lifters, contact-sport players — who want SI joint support during training and competition. For lifting-intensive workers, the secondary strap is tightened during the lift and released between lifts. For chronic SI joint hypermobility, the belt is a daily support for activities that aggravate the joint. And for piriformis syndrome or anterior pelvic tilt recovery, the secondary strap focal-compresses the piriformis trigger point or the anterior tilt area.

What the Evidence Says

The most widely cited clinical evidence on pelvic compression belts is consistent in direction. Bertuit and colleagues (2017) reported a 20 mm reduction on a visual analogue scale when pregnant women with pelvic girdle pain used a pelvic belt regularly on short periods. Delshad and colleagues (2020) reported that a pelvic compression belt with a textured sacral pad improved hip joint position sense, perceived effort and maximum flexion force in pregnant women with lumbopelvic pain during a single session.

Both studies are on pregnant cohorts. Neither claims a permanent cure. The findings are consistent with what we see in our retail testing: the MSB09 supports the SI joint during activity. It does not change the underlying joint structure.

Original Indication List from the Factory

The original indication list from the product page is preserved here verbatim for clinical buyers who need to match the SKU to a specific diagnosis:

  1. Sciatica, Hip and Spine Pain
  1. SI joint dysfunction
  1. Symphysis pubis dysfunction
  1. Pelvic girdle pain
  1. Piriformis syndrome or anterior pelvic tilt

Quality and Conformity

Medisolemates holds ISO 13485 certification for the quality management system. The products in the catalogue carry CE conformity and FDA registration references. We do not list the full certificate set on a product page because the certificate scope has to match both the SKU and the destination market. An EU buyer, an FDA-only buyer and a UKCA buyer each get a different certificate bundle.

OEM, ODM and Private Label

We have manufactured orthopaedic and medical support products in Shenzhen since 2010. Cutting, assembly and packing are on one site at the Wanquan Industrial Zone in Longgang. A single-size SI belt like the MSB09 is well-suited to small colour runs and quick sample turnarounds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a sacroiliac hip belt work?

Yes. The belt supports the SI joint during activity. Compression across the pelvis reduces how much the joint moves during a lift, a step or a transition. Two published studies on pelvic compression belts are consistent in direction. Bertuit and colleagues (2017) reported a 20 mm reduction on a visual analogue scale when pregnant women with pelvic girdle pain used a pelvic belt regularly on short periods. Delshad and colleagues (2020) reported that a pelvic compression belt with a textured sacral pad improved hip joint position sense, perceived effort and maximum flexion force during a single session. Neither study claims the belt cures the underlying condition. The honest summary: the belt is a support device during wear, not a treatment.

What is the difference between a sacroiliac belt and a pregnancy belt?

Both are pelvic compression belts, but the typical wearer is different. A sacroiliac belt is sized for chronic SI joint support, lifting activity and post-injury recovery in adult wearers outside pregnancy. A pregnancy belt is sized for the abdominal circumference change through the trimesters and uses a different closure. The MSB09 is closer to the first category — sized as a universal pelvic belt with a secondary strap for focal compression.

How tight should a sacroiliac hip belt be?

Snug, not painful. The primary belt should hold the pelvis together with light compression — a finger should slide under the closure without forcing. The secondary strap should be tightened until the wearer feels focal pressure over the sore area, then released between lifts. If the wearer feels numbness, tingling in the legs or reduced circulation, the belt is too tight. Loosen it.

How long should you wear a sacroiliac hip belt per day?

For typical use, the belt is worn during activity — work, training, the parts of the day when the SI joint is loaded. Most wearers use it for 4 to 8 hours per day. The factory’s language is “controllable compression during activity”. The belt is not designed for sleep. Wear it during the activity window, then take it off.

Can a sacroiliac hip belt help piriformis syndrome?

The secondary strap of the MSB09 can be tightened over the piriformis trigger point. Many wearers with piriformis syndrome report that a focal compression over the trigger point reduces referred pain during a desk day. That is a support effect, not a treatment effect. The underlying muscle tightness still needs to be addressed through stretching and, in some cases, clinical care.

Does the MSB09 fit plus-size wearers?

The catalogue length is 109 cm, with hook-and-loop closure covering roughly 15 to 20 cm of adjustment. That covers most adult wearers in the routine retail range. For hip circumferences beyond the catalogue range, ask for a custom length — MOQ applies. The minimum we can cut for SI belt programmes without losing structural integrity is around 90 cm; the maximum depends on the neoprene source lot.

Why Buyers Source the MSB09 from Medisolemates

Three reasons we hear most often.

Dual-belt design out of the catalogue. Most competing SI belts ship as a single wraparound strap. The MSB09 secondary strap, ribbon-fish fabric with breathable perforation, is what lets the wearer focal-compress rather than apply general pressure. That is the differentiator retail buyers ask about.

Short supply chain. Cutting, assembly and packing happen on one site as the sample room. A five-piece colour sample usually goes out within a week, which keeps iteration cycles short for buyers still finalising packaging.

Documentation on the buyer’s side. Size charts, material test reports, certificates and the carton marking template all travel with the quotation rather than living only on the website.

The MSB09 also pairs well with the rest of our back-brace manufacturing line. A distributor carrying the lumbar brace (MSB12), the posture corrector (MSB11), the upper back brace (MSB10) and the SI belt (MSB09) covers the full back-and-pelvic support category from one supplier.
